Essen, February 10, 2025 – Fabian Hogrebe has joined Gründerfonds Ruhr (Ruhrgründer Management GmbH) as an Investment Manager, further strengthening the team as the second generation of Gründerfonds Ruhr gains significant momentum.
Venture Capital and startup expertise for the Ruhr region
Fabian brings over four years of experience in venture capital and company building. In addition to his background as an investor, he has firsthand startup experience as the Co-Founder of a biotech startup, where he navigated the challenges of founding and scaling a business. This dual perspective—both as a founder and as an investor—gives him a deep understanding of the needs of early-stage startups and the key factors that drive long-term success.
His academic background complements his practical experience perfectly. Fabian holds an M.Sc. in Technology and Management from TU Munich and a Dr. rer. pol. in Business Administration from HHU Düsseldorf. With his analytical approach and strategic understanding, he brings valuable expertise in identifying and promoting promising business models. As a native of the Ruhr area, the development of the region as an innovation hub is especially close to his heart.
A new chapter for Gründerfonds Ruhr
Gründerfonds Ruhr is in an exciting phase, following the successful first closing of the second fund in October 2024, with a volume of EUR 31M. The fund is now set to grow to a total of EUR 50M. Fabian is a valuable addition to the team and will play a central role in identifying and implementing the first investment from the new fund.
